While April temperatures hit record highs, the Sunshine Coast real estate market followed suit with the best April in 10 years. The average price per square foot for single detached homes hit $331, a high for the Sunshine Coast but still way, way under Vancouver prices. 

Competition is fierce and a new model has developed where sellers are not taking offers until a week or two after a property is listed, which basically puts all potential buyers into a bidding war when the offers are all reviewed on the same day. Still, the Coast represents great value.
